Do you have an excellent working knowledge of Housing Benefit legislation and procedures? If so, this new role might be exactly what you are looking for.
As Subsidy Officer you will provide an efficient, accurate and effective housing benefit subsidy and financial reconciliation reporting function, ensuring there is no loss of benefit subsidy to the Council. In this vital role you will also support the Council’s obligations under the Housing Benefit Accuracy initiative.
Able to achieve results through influence and negotiation, you will liaise with DWP and external auditors to make sure audits are completed to statutory deadlines. You will also need to be able to develop and work in accordance with procedure manuals.
Excellent communication, numeracy, interpersonal and analytical skills are essential for this role.
The successful candidate will be the technical Housing Benefit specialist for the Council and you will need to be prepared to undertake further training to keep your knowledge up to date.
