Job Description:
Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your skills and work for a world class mining operation? We are looking for a junior to intermediate mining engineer to work within the short range mine planning team responsible for delivering mine plans encompassing the 2 to 12 week planning horizons.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop placement plans integrating waste mining areas and material placement to support the material balance and build critical structures
- Align construction schedules and targets with tailings plan requirements
- Identify opportunities and mitigate risks through planning optimization
- Work collaboratively within integrated working teams and cross functional teams to support the business
Job Requirements:
- Up to 5 years of experience in mine planning
- A Bachelor’s Degree of Science or Engineering degree in Mining, Civil, Materials, Geological or Environmental
- Eligibility for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, integrated team environment
- Well-developed critical thinking skills, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
