Job Description:
Southwest Airlines’ Airport Affairs Team works within the Airport Affairs Department. They protect and advance Southwest’s interests by obtaining airport or real estate business solutions. The Team builds deep and wide relationships with Internal Customers and External Partners like airport directors and owners (e.g. cities, municipalities, nonprofit entities). If selected, you will work full-time as a Team Member.

Job Responsibilities:
- Review of financial data including income statements and balance statements
- Supporting lease administration work
- Data collection analysis and reporting
- Generate reports on information needed by various Team Members for day-to-day use
- Attend and record information in meetings and provide recaps to the Team
- Communicate with outside sources, vendors, Teams, and Internal/External Customers via personal contact, telephone, and written correspondence
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date to comply with Executive Order 14042, which requires employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Progress towards degree with major/minor in Airport/Aviation Management, Business, Economics, Finance, or other related degree required.
- Minimum sophomore level at start of internship.
- To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours).
- Maintained 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.
- Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to comprehend financial documents including income statements and balance sheets
- Ability to collect and analyze data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
- Previous part-time job or internship experience preferred.
- Involvement in campus organizations, clubs, or extracurricular activities preferred.
- Previous Leadership positions are a plus.
- Intern may be required to work a flexible schedule.
- Travel may be required for this internship including multiple day stays at various event or work locations.
- This internship may require Business Professional attire for specific events or work functions.
