Job Description:
To effectively manage the department to ensure accurate, timely payment of salaries and administration. This includes internal controls, data accuracy, deadlines and pro-active implementation of control measurements to achieve set standards.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage salary administrator
- Ensure that goals and objectives are in line with company objectives and goals
- Ensure goals and objectives are met
- Set target dates and see that they are adhered to
- Give direction to the manager in which salary admin tasks are administered
- Provide training on salary related issues as and when required
- Ensure full maintenance of the payroll system, as well as accurate timely payroll runs
- Ensure that employees are provided with timeous and accurate salary payments compliant with all applicable legislative requirements
- Process EFT information from system for downloading onto “Best” system
- Check GL and proceed with download where applicable
- Upload/Submit all general ledgers
- Ensure timeous payment of annual increases and bonus / variable pay payments
- Print documents including pay slips/input sheets/monthly schedules
- Determine administrative process standards, including queries, inputs and payments
- Reconcile payroll control accounts to general ledger
- Run all exception reports as per the payroll
- Check all reports and ensure all details are correct prior to the payroll run e.g.: Dupl Id’s & Acc numbers
- Ensure effective record keeping for audit purposes
- Set standards for internal administration relating to salary queries, input, payment etc.
- Improve the fluency of current systems
- Take corrective action when needed and give feedback to management
- Investigate and identify more efficient administration methods an processes
- Implement the most effective administration process
- Running of various reports monthly and on ad-hoc basis
- Analysing and understanding reports
- Ensuring integrity and accuracy of reports and summaries produced
- Ensure that goals and objectives of report and/or task are met
- Ensure 100% correct consolidation of payrolls to achieve accurate monthly statutory and 3rd party payments
- Ensure accurate record keeping for audit purposes
- Ensure monthly cash flow is done at least 2 days prior to payment date
- Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
- Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
- Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands
Job Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree at NQF level 7/ management training and/or experience, Payroll Diploma
- 7 – 8 years’ experience in the management of various remuneration related aspects, and 4 years in a managerial position
