Siyanda Platinum Mine Vacancies – Senior Patrolperson

Job Description:

The Senior Patrolperson will be responsible for the application of security procedures within a Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine Operation to ensure that employees and assets are protected. Investigation support and emergency protection duties will be part of the activities of this role. Personal risk is a factor in the role due to cash escorts (where applicable), criminal investigations, armed response, VIP escorts and unrest situations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply recognized work, legislative and security standards
• Conduct allocated patrols or checkpoint duties
• Ensure that security tasks are completed to required quality standards
• Conduct ad hoc security assignments such as searches or roadblocks
• Take appropriate action on observation of risk situations
• Observes the application of risk management procedures in high risk activities within the operation
• Support the rostering and administration of Patrolpersons
• Support the training of Patrolpersons
• Maintain facilities, equipment and personal image up to a high standard of presentation

Job Requirements:

• National Certificate (NQF 5) Security Management
• National Diploma in Security Management – Advantageous
• Minimum 5 year’s experience in security environment or equivalent
• Communication in english (spoken,written and reading)
• Good working relations
• Computer Literacy
• Handling of various emergency situations
• Psychometric assessment
• Firearm competency
• Pass polygraph test
• No criminal record
• Valid driver’s license 08/10/14
• Valid Public Drivers Permit
• Registered with PSIRA on Grade B
