Job Responsibilities:
- Offer senior-level technical support of the firm and 3rd party developed server applications, including software installation, upgrades, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, evaluation and tuning recommendations
- Stay current on new hardware and software developments, evaluating alternative approaches and recommending new hardware/software modifications which will enhance service; participate in project work and troubleshooting related to the firm’s Server and Windows environments; may lead a team of DBAs
- Provide leadership with
- Develop and implement backup/restore, disaster recovery and data replication procedures; create and maintain documentation of guidelines and standards for specific technologies
- Minimum five years of experience as a production support MS SQL Server database administrator
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
- Possess senior technical skills in MS SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014 including system installation and upgrade, backup and recovery, data server migration, database maintenance and support, release management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, developer and third party product support, configuration and support of DTS and SSIS jobs, SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans
