Job Description:
Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position, based at our Distribution Centre in Ladysmith. The successful incumbent will report to the Regional Distribution Manager based in New Germany.

Job Responsibilities:
Effectively and economically manage a Distribution Centre that will maximize efficiencies and maintain excellent service levels to internal and external customers
- Maintaining cost effective management of operations and the efficient utilization of assets;
- Ensuring that Business Plan Initiatives are successfully executed
- Distribution Management,Distribution Management Operating System, budgeting, performance Management, Implementing world-class distribution practices
- Effective management of outsourced contractors
- Ensuring a service orientated and commercially sound secondary operations environment where tactics, policies and procedures are aligned with customer requirements;
- Maintaining excellent relationships with Sales to jointly implement service offerings that satisfy the customer by maximizing On-time In-Full deliveries
- Managing corporate governance in ensuring adherence to Distell Risk, Safety, Health, Quality and Financial policies
- Ensuring that administrative and commercial functions adhere to company procedures
- Ensuring that staff are motivated and productively led and managed
- Leading in a manner that always reflects the company values and corporate governance
- Ensuring that organisational structure talent strategies are optimized
- Ensuring that all staff adheres to policies, procedures and sound relationships are maintained
- Ensuring adequate and correct infrastructure and facilities are in place
Job Requirements:
- Operate independently with high energy, resilience, ownership and accountability in a high-pressure environment
- A post graduate qualification in logistics, warehousing or operations will be an added advantage
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Distribution, Warehousing, Sales environment or similar – of which 3 years must have been as a people leader
- FMCG experience will be advantageous
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound business acumen skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial and statistical data
- Sound knowledge of people practices and the management of discipline
- A team player with the ability to lead, influence and manage people with diverse backgrounds
- Proven experience of MS Office, SAP and warehouse management information systems
- A valid unendorsed driver’s license
