Job Description:
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the management of the stock system, retail pharmacy and the patient billings in the hospital. The role includes preparing the hospitals for execution of the bi-annual group stocktakes and the monthly monitoring of group cyclical counting & implementation of the business processes in all new hospitals.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
- Customer-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills and high working standards
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience in a similar position
- 2 years management experience will be advantageous
- Private hospital experience in a SAP or Hospital environment would be advantageous
- Intermediate computer skill – must be accurate and pay attention to details
- Training of all new staff in the pharmacy, theatre and billings on business processes and transaction processing on materials management programme
- Accountable for the bi-annual group stocktake
- Management of the retail pharmacy
- Management of the antimicrobial stewardship programme
- Management of quality indicators i.e., medication errors
- Management of consignment stock in the operating theatres.
- Accountable for the staff development, performance appraisals, time and attendance (Kronos) system.
- Responsible for procurement in accordance with preferred suppliers.
- Management of the patient accounting system and hospital patient billings department.
- Accountable for the Pharmacies key performance indicators i.e. pharmacy margin, stock days and formulary compliance.
- Active involvement in own professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skill and knowledge.
- Keep up to date with evolving policies and procedures.
