Job Description:

The Accountant will be responsible for hospital finance and procurement team. The incumbent is further responsible to ensure that timeous payments are done, tax and audit compliance is maintained and month- end procedures are followed to be able to compile management accounts.


Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
  • Accounting degree (Bcom) / (Articles Advantageous)
  • Previous Accountant experience advantageous.
  • Advanced computer skill (Excel and Word)
  • Any accounting system experience. ( SAP experience advantageous)
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts , with all relevant information. (Income statement, Balance sheet and volumes and targets and ratios)
    Monthly of reconcilaition and finalization of trial balance.
  • Review of supplier reconciliations prepared by the creditors clerk.
  • Review of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Petty cash control and processing on SAP (Cashbook – FBCJ)
  • Preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax and Income Tax.
  • Monthly audit of payroll.
  • Ensure that Procurement officer follows up on open Purchase orders and obtain correct invoices.
  • Drafting working papers for the auditors and assist in any queries for year-end purposes.
  • Assist with any ad hoc duties.
  • Cashflow forecasting.
