Process safety roles and responsibilities across the organization are clearly defined and include an expectation to raise, and authority to respond to process safety concerns.  Senior leaders are held accountable for process safety performance. Employees understand the importance of process safety as it applies to their jobs and are responsible for following and contributing to the work processes to achieve improvement in company process safety performance.   The SIS Controls Engineer will provide process safety leadership and support to the safety control systems within the facilities.

Job Requirements:

  • BS degree in engineering, preferably in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrument or Controls Engineering, coupled with minimum 3+ years’ experience with SIS systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the installation, operation, maintenance, programming and configuration of DCS & PLC based control systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the installation, operation, maintenance, and calibration of chemical process plant instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytics etc.). Chemical process plant experience preferred.
  • Experience with Schneider (Foxboro) DCS, Modicon, HIMA FPLC systems is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge & understanding of industrial electrical distribution, supply & control systems (design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting etc.).
  • Detailed knowledge & understanding of PC’s, PC networks, configuration, programming, troubleshooting etc. SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills. Required to demonstrate a high level of initiative & entrepreneurial skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment – proven ability to take a leadership role in team activities. Provide guidance & support for other engineers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance processes as related to I/E & controls systems.
  • Experience in the development & execution of capital projects, project cost & schedule control etc.
  • Leadership skills in all aspects of Instruments and Controls for both Capital Projects and Maintenance activities.
  • Experience in construction, check out & start-up of chemical equipment & processes, with particular knowledge required in the I/E & controls areas.
  • Experience in working with I/E contractors, outside engineering resources etc
