Job Description:

Our Learning and Development team is accountable for the provision of operational and compliance capability for Australia Post and its subsidiaries. As the State Training Manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of state-based training solutions to enable the execution of business strategy. This includes a strong focus on safety and the efficient running out our Deliveries and Post Office Networks. Reporting to the “National Learning & Development Operations Manager”, Samantha Tsitsios, you will lead a group of local trainers across Australia Post and StarTrack who are accountability for the delivery, reporting and monitoring of compliance and operational training.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to operational partners in the establishment of appropriate training learning and development strategies and solutions, mobilising specialist resources (eg OD, instructional designers) early.
  • Actively develop team members through in the moment and planned feedback and coaching.
  • Plan and monitor state-based training budget including travel and vendors, within prescribed financial targets.
  • Ensure learning and development plans are established in partnership with business leaders and relevant project managers for major project implementations.
  • Provide regular reporting and actionable insights to managers, enabling effective management of risk from a policy, regulatory and compliance perspective.
  • Apply learning & capability subject matter expertise in conducting learning needs analysis and diagnosis.
  • Take a lead role in the measurement of learning interventions to demonstrate business benefit & ROI.
  • Facilitate induction, compliance and operational based training as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Current knowledge of learning & capability trends in operational and retail environments.
  • Experience conducting learning & training needs analysis in a blue collar, operational and or retail environment
  • Proven ability to generate training reports, conduct detailed analysis and influence leaders to take action to mitigate enterprise risk.
  • Proven ability to lead team and business stakeholders through transformational change.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and growing team of learning professionals, creating an environment of challenge, growth, physical and psychological safety.
  • Ability to establish and maintain exceptional relationships with stakeholders at all levels within an organisation.
