Job Description:

This role is responsible for case management, specialist and high touch support to line managers, HRBP’s, and other leaders within the organisation at a national level in relation to disciplinary inquiries, complaints, investigations and grievances.

This position also provides ER/IR/HR advice on operational matters, entitlements and obligations in accordance with Australia Post’s industrial instruments, policies and legislative requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management advice and high touch support regarding unacceptable behaviour, misconduct, performance management, among others utilising the Australia Post employee counselling and discipline process.
  • Handle complaints of Harassment, Discrimination, Bullying (HDB) utilising and assisting with the resolution of other work place disputes and grievances.
  • Provide advice and guidance to operational/line management and HR BPs on the application of policies and industrial/employment instruments across the enterprise.
  • Assist Line Managers, to prepare necessary responses to employee grievances in line with the General Grievance Process
  • Provide support and coaching regarding advocacy at internal Board of Reference hearings (such as disciplinary appeals and general grievances).
  • Be a point of escalation when investigating matters of high complexity, involvement of management or a conflict of interest, and where appropriate, conduct workplace investigations (disciplinary, HDB and general grievances)
  • Facilitate line manager’s training for the business as required, maintain up to date case management data and collaborate with Senior
  • Workplace Relations Advisors to prepare for external tribunals such as Fair Work Commission.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in HR case management.
  • Experience in operational HR or Workplace Relations, ideally in a large and commercially focused organisation.
  • Experience interpreting and applying HR policies and industrial instruments and interacting with union representatives
  • Experience in a fast paced and complex environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
