As an Agile Coach you’ll play a key role in coaching our Sainsbury’s Tech teams and transforming our Domain ways of working. You will be focused on driving the understanding and application of Agile, Lean and DevOps principles, in order to facilitate delivery of sustainable value across specific customer, colleague and business outcomes.
You’ll be great at building stakeholder relationships and influencing mindsets, and you’ll need to master several new and emerging techniques and models for coaching, conversation and facilitation to enable our colleagues and teams to discover what works best for them.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work on, and in some cases lead, cross Domain transformation that creates measurable positive change and impacts hundreds of our technology colleagues
- Nurture and coach specific Engineering teams on their transformation journey, utilising wide knowledge and practical experience of Agile-Lean, Transformation, Business and Technical skills – typically these will include knowledge of Agile frameworks, principles and techniques such as Lean, Kanban, Systems Thinking, DevOps
- Coach Leadership Teams to greater agility and guide them on structure & ways of working within their business area (typically 30 – 40 teams)
- Develop and deliver workshops, training and Agile Clinics for our teams and leaders to support the constant growth of new skills and capabilities across the Domain
- Encourage innovation, reducing of risks and achieve better outcomes through experimentation, fast feedback, failing fast and iterative delivery of sustainable value
- Help create a culture of timely feedback and retrospectives to bring about measurable improvements at team and Domain level, including behaviour and maturity, identifying useful metrics to support continuous improvement
- Understand the Sainsbury’s Tech vision and strategy, ensuring coaching activities in specific teams fit into our wider priorities and actively contributing to driving forward coaching practice
- Develop yourself and others through the Community of Practice, Domain weekly learning sessions and a Competency Framework maintained by the Community
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge and significant experience of applying a range of Agile, Lean, DevOps Principles, including legacy and non-software solutions.
- Lean Start-up, approaches to scaling Agility, Business Model Canvas, assumption mapping, goal orientated roadmaps, impact mapping, value metrics including leading and lagging indicators etc.
- Highly commercial with strong business acumen, able to identify and deploy the levers to business success
- Experience of transformation change and knowledgeable in org design and change management
- Highly numeric, able to identify and track against key metrics
- Exceptionally developed coaching skills up to senior level
- Strong people skills including stakeholder engagement, high emotional intelligence, along with strong judgement and decision-making capability
- Possess a strong growth mindset and able to influence others
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and experience of working in matrix structures
- Innovative and focused on continuous improvement, comfortable challenging the status quo and driving change
