Job Description:
The Resource Scheduling Specialist is responsible for managing multiple facets of Workforce Planning for Air Canada Cargo, including employee schedules and overall operational scheduling needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage long term vacancies and ensure staff is allocated
- Develops and Deploy plans to achieve mandatory and regulatory training of unionized employees including completion and compliance
- Manage rolling employee seniority lists resulting from retirements, resignations, transfers, and terminations
- Control of time off incurred with shift cycle changes, assignments ensuring appropriate payroll advice
- Deliver advanced planning of staffing levels in advance in response to operational changes to monthly headcount targets
- Manage escalation of employee pay concerns
- Assist in the development and execution of the staffing bids for assigned station/region
- Responsible for tracking and coordination of staff hiring, of staff movement and/or employee status change
- Prepares all work plan related documents for distribution to unionized employees
- Anticipates and identifies safety, security, service, and operational problems, and resolves them with the branch safety team while maintaining the focus on safety.
- Ensure that risks related to Safety and Security are addressed.
- Responsible for supporting Management for safety, security, and customer service activities within responsible region.
- Responsible to coordinate with employee reliability on all rehabilitation assignments and return to work changes
- Communicate schedules and assignments directly to employees
- Execute equalization of staff schedules at the completion of a staffing bid
- Development of daily staff rosters
- Liaise with union representatives to address employee concerns
- Responsible for processing/approving requests from union office for union time clearance
- Responsible for supporting the safety of operations within their assigned region.
- Manage vacation levels and subsequent backfill

- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing conditions
- Proven time management
- Experience working in a unionized environment an asset; thorough knowledge of IAMAW collective agreements
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work under minimal supervision
- Compliance with standards of IOSA, SMS and other applicable authorities
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
- High energy with solid planning skills
- Experience with Staff Admin, WebFocus an asset
- Willingness to be flexible with scheduled working hours
