Job Description:

We’re looking for a seasoned copywriter to bring the magic of Venmo to life through words. A storyteller to weave narratives about products, new and old, to customers, new and old. To craft a big, exciting message in an itty-bitty living space (i.e. a push notification. Or a genie lamp.).

You’ve got a strong creative background and an uncanny ability to write concise copy, often very quickly. You can incorporate legal jargon while striking a memorable *Venmo* tone. You’re bffs with visual designers and thrive when working super closely together. You’re excited about words, like maybe more than is normal, and you can’t wait to produce smart, effective copy that drives results—and makes people smile along the way.

Job Responsibilities:

• Write. A lot.
• Collaborate closely with designers to bring compelling stories and copy to life for emails, in-app feed tiles, in-app modals, push notifications, landing pages, and more
• Provide content strategy and direction to ensure new creative is fresh and exciting for customers who receive a lot of communications from us
• Provide strategic content input on how to continually level-up our creative assets
• Continually incorporate learnings from past campaigns into content decisions
• Proudly present your work to stakeholders and be receptive to feedback, incorporating notes along the way
• Proactively take on larger content projects or creative initiatives (e.g. style guidelines, process improvements, etc.) as necessary
• Support Senior Content Strategist as necessary

Job Requirements:

• Relevant experience writing copy for multi-channel creative and campaigns across various mediums, preferably in a creative agency or client side creative environment
• Solid writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Experience writing for a world-class consumer brand
• Experience in the financial services or payments industry is a bonus
• Ability to develop copy that supports objectives, sometimes with minimal direction
• Must be a fast self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to flex and pitch in on new tasks outside of the defined role – our team wears many hats
