Job Description:

Responsible for all aspects of the assigned console in regards to pipeline, marine, rail, truck and tank terminals. Monitors and controls pipeline systems, rail loading/unloading, truck and marine terminal loading and unloading. Completes meter proving as required by company policy. Reacts and responds to abnormal operating conditions and make notifications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with and coordinates with Product Supply schedulers, refinery blend operations and pipeline partners to maximize efficiency of pipeline operations.
  • Works in cooperation with field personnel to implement measures to assure the operational integrity of the pipeline systems.
  • Supports and troubleshoots the pipeline control systems in order to notify the SCADA/Automation group of required modifications.
  • Monitors pipeline balance and documents Loss/Gain conditions.
    Tracks product movements to accurately perform remote product switches for customers or company storage tanks.
  • Monitors tank levels and pipeline pressures and starts, stops pipeline movements.
  • Controls inventory of all pipeline systems.
  • Responds to all emergency conditions on the pipeline system, makes proper notifications and completes documentation.
  • Communicates directly with pipeline personnel, refineries, other petroleum companies and the public to coordinate operations.
  • Completes all DOT operator qualification testing, including Abnormal operating conditions and how to respond to those conditions.

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year experience in pipeline, marine, truck, rail terminal or pipeline control room operation preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of crude oil/petroleum products and industry terminology preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation required.
  • Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications
    required.
  • Skilled in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization
    required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods required.
  • Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes required.
  • Ability to cross-train in other department duties to ensure efficient coverage of department responsibilities required.
  • Ability to work with others to accomplish challenging assignments required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time requirements
    required.
  • Basic skill using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word and Excel) required.
