Job Description:

Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Imaging Scheduler performs both manual and computer scheduling of procedures, answers telephones, communicates messages appropriately, maintains records, and provides clerical and receptionist support to the department. The Imaging Scheduler is responsible for greeting physicians, representatives from sales companies, patients and other hospital employees. The Imaging Scheduler also processes mail; maintains various logs and reports; orders supplies as needed; types and processes reports, graphs and forms; acts as a secretarial support as needed to imaging supervisors and radiologists; coordinates working on special projects; and data collection.

Job Requirements:

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of one year secretarial and/or scheduling experience.
• Minimum of one year working with computer systems preferably on a medical based system.
• Knowledge of basic clerical duties.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Successful completion of Memorial Hospitals Association’s (MHA) orientation program, including demonstrated competence in computer order entry application.
• Completion of unit specific orientation and competencies.
• The ability to accurately type a minimum of 25 WPM.
• Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
• Must be able to travel in and out of Stanislaus County, including transcontinental travel. If MHA and/or own vehicle used on Association business, must possess valid California Driver’s License and, upon request, proof of liability insurance.
