Job Responsibilities:

• Providing detailed advice, recommendations and guidance to users in the effective use of ICT systems, products and services;
• Diagnosing and resolving issues with user applications, devices and peripherals by following standard operating procedures;
• Installing, configuring and upgrading Microsoft, iOS and Android operating systems and applications, as well as third party software specific to departments;
• Providing advice and guidance to less experienced colleagues where required by means of presentations and technical training;Assisting with the compilation of self-help guides to help colleagues and users to resolve their own computer related issues;
• Staying informed about the latest technologies and trends through ongoing research, experimentation and self-study;
• Recording work with appropriate documentation, meeting the required standards and using suitable methods and tools;
• Monitor systems by regular reviewing in accordance with service level agreements, noting problems, identifying trends and taking corrective actions to improve performance;
• Configuration, administration and documentation of the network infrastructure and its components.

Job Requirements:

• A two-year, computer-related qualification with a minimum of one year of experience, OR computer-related training (e.g.
• A+, MCSE, MCITP, etc.) with a minimum of three years’?? experience in computer user support;
• A good understanding of computer architecture and network technology;
• The ability to solve computer-related problems independently and practically;
• The ability to function in a team as well as independently, in a self-motivated and confident manner;
• The ability to empower team members and users by sharing knowledge and solutions in order to streamline workflow;
• Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise both scheduled and unscheduled tasks;
• The ability to perform well under stress in a dynamic environment;
• Willingness and availability to perform after hours stand-by tasks for additional remuneration;Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
• Experience installing, configuring and upgrading Linux and Apple operating systems;
• Experience in protecting personal equipment using registration, profile management and data protection;
• Knowledge of the Higher Education sector.
