Lead the generation and delivery of consumer insights to shape various design and strategic decisions across the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the process of obtaining consumer insights in support of varied Client Value Proposition (CVP) design initiatives. Interpret and link insights to strategic business imperatives and design considerations.
- Lead insights work alongside operating as an insights practitioner, in a small but progressive team.
- Participate in iterative design processes in collaboration with cross-functional experts towards achieving CVP design outcomes.
- Select and apply various qualitative and/or quantitative research methods independently or in combination, towards achieving outcomes effectively and cost efficiently. Ensure methods are fit for purpose.
- Stay abreast of advances in consumer insights; experiment with new approaches and ensure that insights practices remain fresh and cutting-edge.
- Effectively communicate insights in formats adapted for stakeholders at various levels of the organisations to guide design and/or strategic decisions as required.
- Contribute to a culture of client centricity by making insights accessible and easily understandable to all business stakeholders.
- Source and manage external service providers when required.
- Perform competitor analysis to inform strategic CVP-related decisions as required.
- Flexible team involvement and ability to provide input outside of the boundaries of insights when required to achieve team goals.
- Establish a progressive insights capability to meet the insights needs of the broader Metropolitan business
- Build close, collaborative relationships with business functions to understand needs and proactively guide initiatives with insights as appropriate
- Provide authoritative expertise and advice to business stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that needs are consistently and reliably met within acceptable time frames
- Encourage innovation and educate business stakeholders on the value and importance of applying consumer insights in the business.
- Build and maintain exceptional relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
- Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
- Effectively manage financial and other company resources under your control with due respect.
- Create a positive work climate and culture to energise employees, give meaning to work, and maximise employee productivity.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Behavioural Economics, Statistics or a related discipline
- Post-graduate degree in Business, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Behavioural Economics Statistics or a related discipline (preferred)
- 5-8 years’ experience in designing and delivering consumer insights initiatives in a business context
- Experience with various research methods (quantitative and or qualitative) including newer approaches such as design thinking and rapid prototyping
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in leading teams
- Demonstrable experience in lateral thinking for application in a business context
