Job Description:
Supervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18 month probationary period upon appointment.
Leadership Training: All newly appointed first-time CBP Supervisors are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment. The duration of the training will include SLT three (3) weeks of in residence training in Harpers Ferry, WV. Note: This training may be waived if previously completed.
Technical Training: You may be required to attend 2½ weeks of paid technical training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, SC.

Telework may be available on a regular recurring or situational basis.

Job Requirements:
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Responding to and resolving technical and operational questions regarding the programs supervised
- Setting and adjusting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work
- Performing a full range of supervisory functions including interviewing candidates, recommending rewards, counseling and discussing employee performance requirements hearing and resolving grievances, and taking disciplinary actions
- Analyzing customs documents and applying customs laws, regulations, and procedures; interpreting customs requirements; and
- Determining of rates of duty, classification of merchandise, and entry requirements.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
