Job Description:

The development and support of suitable technology strategies, processes, standards, specifications and designs for Geospatial data and applications business

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and conducts complex product, equipment, material, service and change impact evaluations and risk procedures
• Develops, approves and provide complex solutions for asset creation and national projects (design)
• Provides discipline-specific geographic data and applications vision, strategy and direction setting
• Establish and work with Geoscience, Geography and Geotechnical governance requirements for CoE
• Represents Eskom on statutory bodies that develop national strategies, policies and collaboration agreements for the geospatial business
• Facilitates the establishment of professional and technical geoscience resources

Job Requirements:

• B Tech Degree in Land Survey / Geography / Geo-Informatics / Geomatics / Environmental Sciences with GIS models / Cartography
• Registration with PLATO as a Geoscience Practitioner
• Management of Technology principles (MOT)
• Risk analysis principles
• Sound knowledge and understanding of all electrical plant systems
• Electrical system and analytical skills
• Understanding of design base, OTS and maintenance base
• Knowledge of business process management
• Superior analytical and problem solving ability
