Job Description:

To supervise and manage laboratories where condition monitoring analyses are performed and to utilise the knowledge of chemistry, instrumentation and statistics to solve problems in the area of petroleum sciences to assist engineers to diagnosed faults

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize and manage workflow and analysis
• Contribute to safety, health, and quality in the laboratory
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the laboratory
• Supervise and train employees
• Maintain good client relationships
• Perform investigations and research

Job Requirements:

• National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry at NQF6 with 240 credits
• 3 years’ Laboratory technician, diagnostician experience
• Basic laboratory management
  • Quality (ISO 17025)
  • Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001) and Environment (ISO 14001)
  • Specifications relevant to each centre of expertise
  • Research methodology
  • Electricity generation
  • Subject knowledge
  • Laboratory Information System (LIMS) knowledge of relevant standards
  • Legislation and basic general laboratory practices
  • South African Institute of Tribology (SAIT) transformer course
  • Eskom policies and procedures
• Computer literate
