Job Description:

As a participant in the Belk Internship Program you will gain real word experience and exposure to various functional areas of Supply Chain Analytics and Transportation You will focus on understanding logistics, transportation, distribution center planning and special projects for Supply Chain leaders. The internship will give you exposure to the transportation team and supply chain analytics team. You will gain experience through shadowing assignments, visits to the Distribution Center, individual projects, and formal mentorship during the 10-week program. The Internship Program will look to hire Supply Chain candidates in Charlotte at our headquarters.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities for innovation, productivity improvement and savings
• Support the development of departmental budgets & forecast variances to budget & last year
• Identify & analyze Distribution Centers/Logistics data/trends to drive both strategic and tactical opportunities
• Perform analysis to reconcile data to source reports to resolve discrepancies
• Propose alternative strategic and operational tactics to further improve overall results and efficiency
• Perform analysis to reconcile data to source reports to resolve discrepancies
• Under supervision, design, analyze and create management reports/presentations and dashboards
• Work in a fast paced, dynamic, test and learn environment
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support peak period planning and overall Supply Chain initiatives

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Belk for this position now or in the future
• Previous retail experience
• Leadership skills that include professional business ethics, confidence and self-motivation
• Strong business background with ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and take action
• Rising college senior planning to graduate in Spring 2021
• Proven strong academic performer (GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred)
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications
• Strong academic performance in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial/Operations Engineering, Operations and Finance.
