Job Description:

The IMEX / SWIFT Team within CIB Trade is looking for a Specialist Software Developer to apply critical thinking & problem solving skills to contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle & quickly produce well-organised, optimized, and documented source code to deliver high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications.

The CIB Trade team supports all trade applications across the Africa continent, for local and international trade, with a range of trade and working capital solutions.

We offer trade products that will help our clients to manage risks, negotiate terms, and reduce pressure on cash flow to enable our clients to trade confidently and efficiently.

Our trade solutions are inclusive of both customer-facing systems as well as back-end operational systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Min 5 years software developer experience
• Basic Java Programming experience with good Java deployment
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Excellent communication, analytical skills and decision making ability in collaborative environments
• Excellent understanding of specific coding / scripting languages
• Understanding of Object Oriented Design and ability to properly apply general design patterns and paradigms
• Experience with test-driven development and domain driven design
• Linux Admin
• Agile Delivery (SCRUM/Kanban)
• JIRA
• Confluence
• Sharepoint
• Mainframe and Cobol beneficial
• Apply critical thinking, design thinking and problem solving skills in an agile team environment to solve technical problems (Front End, Back End OR Middleware) with high quality solutions
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
• Evaluate analysis, problem definition, business requirements, solution development & provide recommendations to enable the operational feasibility of solutions
• Quickly produce well-organised, optimized, and documented source code to deliver technical solutions
• Ensure designs & solutions support the technical organisation principles of self-service, repeatability, testability, scalability & resilience
• Apply general design patterns and paradigms to deliver technical solutions
• Support the development of CI / CD Pipelines
